Wheel Of Life....

The Wheel of Life is an assessment tool used by Life Coaches to help clients identify what area of their life needs improvement. This one has seven sections: Finances, Career, Community, Family, Love, Creativity and Spirit.

It operates on the same philosophy as "a scale from one to ten" one being miserable, ten being absolutely fulfilled. If one area of your life is stuck at a one, you would barely fill in that piece of pie. However, if it was at a ten, you would entirely colour in that piece of pie.

The end result is, you (ideally) should have a circle filled in, balanced within all areas, creating a solid wheel. A wheel that is fully inflated rolls smoothly and with less effort. But anyone who's riden a bike who's tires are low, knows how much extra effort it takes to keep those tires rolling.

You are invited to assess your own Wheel Of Life, to see what areas may benefit from more attention.

I Do Declare, We Just Might Be Blushing!!!

"Creative Therapy" blogs:
On Monday, a large pile of mail arrived at our office. Among the ordinary business mail, I was delighted by the appearance of a lusciously decorated envelope from Canada. Don't you love that wonderful feeling of unexpectedly receiving something intriguing?

With the joy of a child opening a birthday present, I unwrapped my treasure to find: a copy of the premiere edition of Gypsy Wagon zine (which I'd forgotten I had ordered! I often do that. Consequently, I get lots of delightful surprises in the mail!). I read it from cover to cover twice-
and have continued to dip into it over the past few days. I love it!

Gypsy Wagon is the creation of the very talented, inspiring Krystin Clark-Goodsell. It's a travelling wagon of Creative Adventures brimming with art, musings, and creative prompts. My favourite image is "Cast The Circle" which reminds me of Henri Matisse's work The Dance (I like Krystin's version better!). This inaugral issue of Gypsy Wagon features an insightful Artist Encounter with one of my favourite artists, the delightfully bohemian Ms. Violette (whom I've written about in previous posts). Also in this issue is a free Artist Trading Card kit, and artists are invited to submit images of their creations to the Gypsy Wagon.

A zine is an independent, limited-edition publication- usually created and distributed by the artist/writer and often with a particular theme. There's a whole world of Creative Adventurers out there creating zines, and Gypsy Wagon is one of the best I've seen!

Now if you'll excuse me... I have an Artist Trading Card project to get started on"

Creative Therapy's blog may be found at: http://creativetherapies.wordpress.com/categories/zines/

Thank you so very much for your kind words Creative! I'm equally happy you enjoyed your copy! Issue #2 is hot in the works, and should be ready for distribution no later than Labour Day.

Artist Encounter: An Afternoon With Violette

The Summer issue of Gypsy Wagon zine had a feature article focusing on the art and energies of Violette. Violette has received her own copy of the zine in the mail just the other day, and here are her own words about the experience and article.

"Yesterday I received the Gypsy Wagon zine in the mail from Krystin – she came and interviewed me for her first zine. I’m am so loving zines these days!

They are like mini books coming straight from the artist’s heart. Krystin writes so well and her art is complimentary to her writing that I think she should have her own book! Maybe she can compile several of her zines and make her very own book that way the only person she would have to answer to is herself!

I enjoyed the interview with Krystin – she pulled things out of me that I had not shared before in other interviews – you could tell that she wanted to go deeper and delve into my psyche! Gypsy Wagon comes with a wonderful packet to make your own ATC. That’s one of the things I love about zinesthey often come with bits of ephemera that you can use in your art. They are more than just a small book – they are like a creative pinata waiting to burst open with artsy goodness!

Thank you Krystin for taking the time to interview me and for sending your lovely zine my way."

Thank you very much Violette for letting me visit your Magic Cottage. I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon spent with you, and was honoured you would give me, and my little zine, a part of your afternoon. Thank you so very much for your support.

PS: Violette's blog is at http://www.violette.ca/

International Purchases

It's been brought to my attention, that it appears to readers as if the Gypsy Wagon zine is only available for purchase/subscription within North America. I have good news for you, my Gypsy friends...."A Happily Not So!"

So here they are, my new, bright and shiny PayPal buttons, specifically for those interested parties outside of North America.

Thank you very much for such valuable feedback!

Issues of Gypsy Wagon are $8.99 each, and will be shipped globally for an additional $3 shipping and Handling.

That might be a limited time only shipping rate, depends on if my jaw bounces off the floor at the post office :)

Tiny Hiccups

It has just come to the attention of the Gypsy Wagon that no one has been able to leave comments on this site. Our apologies!!! There's nothing more we want to hear from than YOU!

In the meantime.... did you know you could also find Gypsy Wagon on FaceBook? Now, it's not the prettiest URL in the world.... but it's all ours:

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/Gypsy-Wagon/120704747952969?ref=

And when in doubt... if you've tried to leave a comment, have tried to reach us on FaceBook, have used the general inquiry e-mail address, the subscription e-mail address or the address for artist submission.... and you're STILL encountering complications...
then you are owed a huuuuuge apology, and please feel free to contact the creator/publisher/distributor (I like many hats!) Krystin Clark-Goodsell at:
krystinclark-goodsell@hotmail.com

Again, my apologies for any complications in reaching us. I can't tell you how excited I am that you WANT to get in touch with us!

I feel like Sally Field at the Academy Awards "you like me, you really, really like me!!"

Thank you so very much, and creative wishes from this band of gypsies!!!
